The turning point in Frederick Achom’s business career came with his first successful venture at the age of twenty three with the sale of his SME business development agency to EGC group. Today, as shareholder and senior partner of the Bordeaux Wine Company (BWC), and founder and chairman of the Rosemont Group, there is no doubt that Achom is a firmly established businessman. At Bordeaux Wine Company, Frederick Achom is part of a team of economic experts that provide market advice on investments to international customers. Over recent years the company has acquired a reputation for superior customer service and its list of both institutional and private clients has grown considerably. In honor of its success, the Bordeaux Wine Company held a private seminar and tasting event for 100 of its specially selected clients who belong to the elite high net worth category. Partner and shareholder Frederick Achom invited a guest speaker who specializes in wines from the Bordeaux region to join the business discussion and the tasting of rare vintages. The guests all took part in a vertical tasting in the wines of Margaux and Mouton Rothschilds and other fine estates producing "first growths". Whilst the company’s wines are based mainly on top-of-the-line first growth wines, this is not a hard and fast policy and the first growth wines are sometimes complemented by second, third, fourth and even fifth growth wines. The Bordeaux Wine Company was established in 2002 and since its inception has managed to combine business and pleasure – the pleasure of fine wine with the keen business expertise of solid investment strategies. The company’s future plans include expanding its operations to the US and Asia. Concurrent with his activities in Bordeaux Wine company, Frederick Achom remains active in the Rosemont Group of companies that he founded in 2003 as a Virgin Islands based company. The Group is active in several main areas of business including UK land and property development, overseas property investment, high end Italian kitchens, consultancy, marketing and branding, recruitment, sales of Telecom in Western Africa and restaurants as well as private clubs. The company recently acquired the UK Property Clinic Group, a clear indication of the expansion of its land and property division. Though still in its first decade of operations, the Rosemont Group has a reputed worth of approximately $40 million, testament to its successful operations as well the keen business sense of its founder, Frederick Achom. Achom describes himself as a “serial investor”, with one if his strengths being his sense for innovation, which is driven by his belief in following one’s hopes and dreams. Frederick Achom has been bestowed with various honors and was granted lately with the inclusion once again on the 2012 UK Powerlist, a list reflecting the most influential black individuals, achieving a status to indeed be proud of. Achom’s holdings in privately held Rosemont Group and Bennett Brasseries and wines stores are the prominent motives leading to his accomplishments and his inclusion on such a powerful list. The listing comprises of various self-motivated influencers such as business executives, finance experts, athletes, nightclub managers and other professionals from all walks of life all linked by their fortitude and desire to educate and strive for distinction. Achom was also named lately as one of the Night Owls on the top 1000 influential individuals compiled and published by the London Evening Standard for 2011. As with his inclusion in this exceptional list in 2010, Achom’s interests in property and French wine and his joint venture in the discreet Jalouse Members Bar in the heart of Mayfair, attracting celebrities worldwide, has helped make his name in London. Achom was born in Lagos, Nigeria where his father was a businessman and his mother a housewife. He spent his early years in Lagos, after which he and his brothers and sisters were sent to be educated at private schools in England. Achom returned to Nigeria briefly after his schooling to study medicine, which he gave up after a year and a half to return to London. Today London, Paris and Rome are all home to Frederick Achom and his two children. |
